Just sent this work off for an exhibition Books ...beyond words in East Gippsland opening in August.

bird exemplar came after completing a series of drawings of bird skins sourced from the archives of the Australian Museum in 2007. It was made as a personal reference book documenting examples of birds I have never seen in life that are now rare or endangered and to record the etching processes with aluminium so each page became an exercise in the variant techniques. I so enjoy making artists books and have been thinking about perhaps giving some classes.
