21 July 2012

A winter's evening watching a sailboat passing the North Head of Sydney Harbour, above kookaburras laughing and the sea making strong lapping sounds on the shore, just before the opening at Manly's Regional Art Gallery. Manly has a lot of history, the name was given by Captain Arthur Phillip from observing the indigenous Guringai people with having "confidence and manly behaviour".  And I would recommend a walk in the North Head Sanctuary where the birds and banksias are magnificent. Also home to Bandicoots on the Brink program - a one day volunteer expedition.
